With the price of gasoline stabilizing, so has AIER’s Everyday Price Index. The index was unchanged in April after it increased 0.8 percent in March.  The broader Consumer Price Index  increased 0.2 percent in April.

The Everyday Price Index includes basic goods and services that consumers buy on a regular basis. Over the last 12 months, the EPI has decreased 3.2 percent, while the CPI only decreased 0.1 percent. The difference between the two is mainly because the EPI places a bigger emphasis on the price of gasoline.
