Gary Clyde Hufbauer a Nonresident Senior Fellow of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, living in New Mexico. Before joining the Peterson Institute in 1985, he was the Marcus Wallenberg Professor of International Financial Diplomacy at Georgetown University. From 1974-1980, Hufbauer served as a tax and trade official in the US Treasury Department. He holds an A.B from Harvard College, a PhD in economics from King College at Cambridge University, and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Hufbauer has written extensively on international trade, international taxation, and economic sanctions.
