Matthew Schaffer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Eastern Michigan University. His research is in empirical macroeconomics, with a focus on monetary policy and the financial system. He has published articles in leading scholarly journals, including Journal of International Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, European Economic Review, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking & Finance. Schaffer earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University and his M.A. and B.S.B.A. in Economics from Central Michigan University.
